Mia Friedman- Editor-in-Chief/Webmaster
Mia Friedman was born to a family of journalists in Washington D.C. She committed her life to uncovering political scandals, pursuing a career in journalism at Northwestern University. She was snatched by the Washington Post, but left her editor job to found The Daily Derenberger along with Ginsky, Hill, Scissors and Su. Aside from exposing shady politics, Friedman enjoys baking pumpkin chocolate chip muffins and hiking with her puppy, Ruby. On The Daily Derenberger, Friedman assumes the editor position and created a user-friendly and informative website.
Kaya Ginsky- Journalist
Kaya Ginsky is a journalist who has been with Daily Derenberger since its founding. She was born in New Jersey and raised in Bethesda Maryland, close to the journalism capital of the world, Washington D.C. Ginsky first found her passion for writing as the crossword puzzle editor for Walt Whitman High School’s SNO aclaimed newspaper, The Black and White. She then went on to graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Print Journalism from Syracuse University’s Newhouse School of Public Communications in 2010. She has covered the political beat for The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Boston Globe, and various other newspapers and sites. In the winter of 2019, Ginsky came back to her hometown to work on the rising site “Daily Derenberger,” and is prepared to provide an up-close look at the elections for her readers.
Christian Hill- Journalist
Christian Hill is a 25 year old born in Washington D.C. who recently graduated from Boston College and joined the Daily Derenberger. While at Boston College, Christian was part of The Heights, a very well regarded student run newspaper organization. They received many rewards for the quality work they put out as well as the timely manner in which they managed to release it. Following his college experience, Christian desired to take his career as a journalist even further, and joined the prestigious Daily Derenberger. Now, with the upcoming elections, Christian is looking to make a name for himself through his coverage of what comes to pass.
Rachel Scissors- Pollster
Rachel Scissors is the pollster of the Daily Derenberger. She was born in Washington, D.C. and moved to Bethesda, Maryland at a young age. Rachel received a bachelor’s degree in political science from Georgetown University and a master’s degree in statistics from the University of Chicago in 2015. She then worked in the polling department of CNN for four years. In 2019, she joined the staff of the Daily Derenberger, where she aims to provide accurate and reliable information about the upcoming election.
Margot Su- Gossip Columnist
Margot Su is the current writer of the media gossip column for The Daily Derenberger. She grew up in California, but moved to Maryland where she then attended Walt Whitman Highschool and graduated in 2014 with an astounding 5.0 GPA. As a 2018 college graduate, she received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and writing at NYU. After college, Margot kicked off her gossip based career by writing for the National Enquirer. After working there for almost two years, Margot was hired by her current newspaper: The Daily Derenberger. With years of experience, she strives to bring to the audience the latest buzz on the candidates in the 2020 election.
